Project Manovedh
The idea of project ‘*Manovedh*’ was conceived with the thought of making mental health a priority for the younger generation. In the current age of competition, expectations, aspirations, the younger generation is facing more challenges than ever. Along with capabilities and skills, being an all-rounder is the need. This is putting a lot of pressure on the young minds.
With that thought in mind, RCPM tied up with Baya Karve Women’s Study and Research Center (as trainers) and Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti (as the beneficiaries) to carry out an 8 session lecture series for 1st year students on different aspects covering mental health. These students are coming from rural and lower economic background to Pune for education, never stayed away from their family and eager to make a mark in the bigger city.
The inauguration of the project was on 24-Sep-2022 which was attended by all the trainers and students from Samiti. We saw a great presence of Rotarians and Anns for the program with Pres. Vivek Kulkarni, Project Direct Makarand Phadke and Project Convener Prerana Joshi on the dias along with representatives of Baya Karve Women’s Study and Research Center and Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti. The project kick-started with a half an hour session by Dr. Pallavi from BKWSRC. She set the context with the students on the need of prioritizing mental health and what we are going to look at in all the sessions going forward. It was an informative talk developing a connect with the students.
